Dr Hail Al-Abdely is a Professor of Medicine at Alfaisal University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is also an Infectious Disease Consultant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center. He was the Assistant Chief Executive Officer and the Chief medical officer at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre. Dr Al Abdely was also the Director-General of the General Directorate of Infection Prevention and Control, MOH, Saudi Arabia. The subspecialty training in infectious diseases was at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, USA. Dr Al-Abdely is the former director of the central branch of the Saudi Society of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (SSMMID). He has authored or co-authored over 65 peerreviewed journal publications, and several book chapters in areas of medical mycology and infection control, and has been an invited speaker at numerous regional and international meetings. He is also a reviewer for several journals in the field of medicine and infectious diseases regionally and internationally.
