Prof Abdulrahman M. Almazrou started his career at the College of Medicine, King Saud University in 1991, following his postgraduate training in Pediatrics and pediatric ID at the University of British Colombia, Vancouver, BC, Canada. He started as a teaching faculty and consultant for Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He served in different administrative and leadership positions, including Head of Pediatric ID unit, Chair of the pediatric department, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Medicine. Prof Almazrou was elected as the Chairperson of the Scientific Council of Pediatrics at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) for two consecutive terms. He has also served as the Head of the PID Committee during its establishment phase and was a member of the SCFHS Executive Board. Before joining Sulaiman Al Rajhi University, Prof Almazrou was part of the team responsible for the commissioning and initial operational phase of King Fahd Medical City, a large tertiary care facility in Riyadh. He served in the position of the Executive Director of Medical Services. At the beginning of 2012, Prof Almazrou started his journey with the project of Sulaiman Al Rajhi University. He served as the Dean of the Medical College and the Chief Supervisor of the University project. He has led the project’s transformation from being only one college (College of Medicine) to the status of a Sulaiman AlRajhi University by 2019. Besides the academic and clinical fields, Prof Almazrou has also served as a Member of Board of Trustees/ board of Directors of different charity and not-for-profit organizations. Prof Almazrou has special interest in the field of vaccination as well as undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He has published more than 46 publications including research papers in peer-reviewed journals and textbook chapters in his area of specialization.
